Tourism
In March 2004 Northumbria Tourist Board was transferred to One North East. This coincided with the transfer of strategic responsibility for tourism from the English Tourism Council to the UK's regional development agencies.
Part of our responsibilities as strategic lead for regional tourism includes development of the Visitor Economy Strategy.
The consultation period for the Visitor Economy Strategy for North East England 2010 – 2020 has now closed and work is ongoing to update the draft document, taking into accout the feedback we have received.
A pdf of the consultation draft document is available at the right hand side of this page.
If you would like any further clarification on the consultation process please contact ailsa.anderson@onenortheast.co.uk.
Thank you for showing interest, your views are very important to us.
A copy of the current Tourism Strategy 2005-2010 is also available below.
One North East has appointed a North East Tourism Advisory Board. This is made up of between 10 and 18 people and will oversee the support and development of tourism businesses and attractions across the North East.
The One North East Tourism Team is continuing to deliver key services, as well as new opportunities and projects. For further information about the kinds of services and benefits available, please see www.tourismnortheast.co.uk.
