Regional Economic Strategy Launch / Annual Review Meeting - September 2006

The Agency held its second Annual Review Meeting at Beamish Hall on Wednesday 27th September 2006 where we launched the Regional Economic Strategy.

300 key stakeholders from across the region came along to hear from our Chairman Margaret Fay, Chief Executive Alan Clarke, Chey Garland, owner and manager of Garland’s Call Centres and some of the region’s business people.

Margaret Fay opened the event and covered what the Agency delivered over 2005-6.

Chey Garland gave an inspirational insight into how she has started and grown her business into one of the most successful in the region and showed her endorsement and total commitment to the principles behind the RES.

Alan Clarke then covered the main messages of the RES and discussed how there is now a need for people to engage in the RES action planning to really make things happen. 

The event was a major success, giving our stakeholders a good insight into what we have been doing recently and allowing us to convey our ambitions for the region to 2016.
