The Northeast Tourism Advisory Board (NETA) was formed in September 2004.
It provides advice on tourism issues affecting the region. Its role is set out in the Terms of Reference [Word document], which can be found in the download area of this page.
Board members are appointed for an initial term of three years, with the maximum of 18 and the minimum of 10 members. So from time to time the Board may advertise for new members.
With the exception of the Chairman's post, the members are not paid for their involvement. However, they are entitled to claim expenses in accordance with the Expenses Policy [Word document], which can also be found in the download area of this page.
To ensure that the Agency attracts members from all sectors of the industry, a small attendance allowance is available to compensate representatives from very small enterprises, which would otherwise be adversely affected by allowing key staff to sit on the Board.
The current Chairman is Geoff Hodgson. The remaining members are:
Stacy Hall, One NorthEast's Director of Communications and Tourism, and key tourism personnel attend the meetings. The NETA Board reports at least once a year to the main Board of One NorthEast.
If you wish to contact the NETA Board directly you may do so by e-mailing netaboard@onenortheast.co.uk
These e-mails will be directed to the NETA secretary, who will pass them on to the Chairman.
Please be aware that it may take a few days for e-mails to reach the Chairman.
