Newcastle Science Company

In April 2009 Newcastle Science Company Limited (NSC) was incorporated. The three members are One North East, Newcastle City Council and Newcastle University.

NSC is Newcastle’s response to the then Chancellor Gordon Brown’s statement in 2004 about developing Science Cities across the country. NSC is one of six Science Cities, which include York, Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham and Bristol. The concept aims to generate economic development and new business by focusing on developing world class science and research.
