Hadrian's Wall Heritage

Hadrian’s Wall Heritage Limited (HWHL) was set up in 2006 by One North East, the Northwest Development Agency, English Heritage and Natural England.  Hadrian's Wall is already one of the best known ancient monuments in Europe but it has the potential to generate even more economic and community value.

The company’s aim is to realise the economic, social and cultural regeneration potential of the Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site and the communities and environment through which it passes by sustainable tourism development, management and conservation activities which benefit local communities and the wider region. All this is done in a way that reflects the values embodied in the World Heritage Site Management Plan.
