Durham City Vision

Durham 2020 Vision is an ambitious project to create a vision for a vibrant future for Durham City Centre over the next 13 years.

The Durham 2020 Vision Masterplan was published on March 21 and can be downloaded from www.durhamcityvision.co.uk. A summary version is also available on the website.

The Durham City 2020 Vision is being delivered by a partnership comprising the City of Durham Council, Durham County Council, One North East, Durham University, Durham Cathedral Chapter and the North East Chamber of Commerce. The project has funding support from One North East through the County Durham Sub Regional Partnership.

With Durham Cathedral and Durham Castle – together comprising the City’s Unesco World Heritage Site – Durham Necklace Park is recognised in the 2020 Vision as one of Durham’s three great natural and historic attributes.

Durham City Vision works in partnership with County Durham Tourism Partnership. CDTP is the new tourism organisation for County Durham which works on behalf of businesses and public agencies.  It is responsible for leading tourism within the county and is part of a regional network called Tourism Network North East.
