Capital North East / Insight Capital
Capital North East is a generalist venture capital fund for high-growth opportunities which will include start-up, early stage expansion finance, MBOs or MBIs.
CapitalISE, NESEP
Details on the fund, which provides loans between £15,000 and £100,000 for social enterprises that are unable to access loans from mainstream sources.
Carbon Trust Grants
Grants up to £250,000 are available for innovative projects that demonstrate a potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Carbon Trust Loan Fund
Carbon Trust provides loans between £5,000 and £100,000 to SMEs who are profitable and have been trading for at least 12 months, for investment in energy efficient equipment/systems or carbon saving projects.
Carbon Trust Venture Capital Programme
The Venture Capital Programme will principally co-invest in companies that wish to develop low carbon technology solutions. Companies must have the potential to become commercially self-sufficient and attract further private investment.

Coalfields Enterprise Fund

The National Coalfields Programme assists former coalfield communities across England by creating new employment, homes, leisure facilities and public spaces.
Co Investment Fund (NECOIF)
SMEs undertaking technology investments can apply for investments from £100,000 to £1 million from Co Investment Fund.

Community Loan Fund
Community Loan Fund provides loans between £15,000 and £50,000 to not-for-profit organisation such as a Registered Charity, Social Business or Voluntary Association based in the North East who are unable to access sufficient funding from traditional sources or that require top up funding.

Cultural Business Venture
Grants are available from Cultural Business Venture for a minimum of £1,000 and a maximum of £10,000 for start-up costs, office fit-out/improvement, IT, arts and office equipment, marketing and promotion costs. Applicants must be SMEs with fewer than 25 employees and an annual turnover of less than £100,000.

Spirit of Enterprise Fund
Spirit of Enterprise Fund can invest between £1,000 and £5,000 to disabled people within North East England, with the aim of helping them into self-employment or, if already operational, to develop their business.

Applicants may be existing self employed and micro businesses (fewer than 10 employees) which appear too risky for mainstream finance or start-ups that can demonstrate a positive cash flow for at least 6 months.
Sub Regional Partnerships (SRPs)
The Agency works closely with the four Sub Regional Partnerships to deliver a broad range of physical regeneration projects.
