Large and small businesses from all sectors will be needed to deliver the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games and its associated legacy. It is a tremendous opportunity for businesses in North East England to find new trading partners, enter new markets, compete for contracts and improve capacity to access wider public procurement contracts in the future.
The 2012 Games will also provide regional tourism businesses and organisations with unique opportunities to showcase all that the region has to offer, both to new visitors from overseas and also to the large number of domestic travellers who holiday at home.
As a region, our aim is to ensure:
- The participation of regional businesses in the full range of London 2012 contract, procurement and tourism product development opportunities
- Regional companies showcase and promote their areas of expertise and excellence
- A transformation in the long term capacity of regional companies to access wider public and private procurement opportunities and tourism return visits.
